Anyone interested in running for a board position or participating in the voting process must ensure their CSF, Inc. membership is active by March 14, 2025. Memberships renewed after this date will not be eligible for nomination or voting privileges.Central States Fair, Inc. is governed by a 14-member volunteer Board of Directors. Each Director serves a four-year term and is elected by the fair membership during the organization's annual meeting, held in March.
As a non-profit, member-driven organization, Central States Fair, Inc. is responsible for producing the annual Central States Fair and Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo®, as well as managing the Central States Fairgrounds through a partnership with Pennington County.
Board Membership & Election Process
- Each year, three Directors are elected to serve four-year terms.
- Directors must be current voting members of Central States Fair, Inc. in good standing.
- Any individual who has previously served as a voting member of the Board of Directors is ineligible for re-election until they have been out of office for at least one year.
- To be eligible for election, candidates must be members for at least 10 days prior to the annual meeting.
- If a sitting Director ceases to be a voting member in good standing, their position on the Board will be automatically forfeited.
